Lung - SEM

Scanning electron microscope image of bronchiolar epithelium, which consists of ciliated and non-ciliated bronchiolar cells. Non-ciliated bronchiolar cells are called Clara cells. There are red blood cells on the surface of the epithelium. Note the difference in size between the cilia and the microvilli (on non-ciliated cell surface). Zeiss DSM 962 SEM.
