Uterus - histology slide
|
This is histology slide of the endometrium. Except for the menstrual phase the cavity of the nonpregnant uterus is lined by a single layer of columnar epithelium. The endometrium varies with the menstrual cycle. In the secretory (luteal) phase (l5th-28th days) the glands are more abundant than earlier. During the early secretory phase there are subnuclear vacuoles which are evidence of ovulation. The glands become tortuous and saw-toothed. Some contain secretory material.
