Uterus - histology slide
|
This is a histology slide of the endometrium. Except for the menstrual phase the cavity of the nonpregnant uterus is lined by a single layer of columnar epithelium. The endometrium varies with the menstrual cycle. During the proliferative (follicular) phase (5th-l4th days) the glands are round to elongated and lined by a single layer of columnar epithelium with basal nuclei. The stroma is quite cellular and compact.
