Spinal Cord

Note the butterfly shape of the central gray matter, surrounded by an outer white matter. The central canal is visible on histology slides (3), (4), and (5). On slides (5), (6), and (7) the neurons are visible. Note the large nucleus and "owls eye" nucleolus.
